      Fashion & Retail Management Program Faculty

      The faculty at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh – Online Division are chosen for their ability to prepare our students for their career pursuits in the real world. All of our faculty attend orientation to learn the best practices for online learning so they have the skills and knowledge to support adult learner success in our online classrooms.

      Ms. Meg Stoner

      Ms. Stoner received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Western Washington University and a Master of Science degree in Education from California State University. She worked as a designer, product development manager, and merchandiser in the garment industry for over fifteen years. Meg also earned a degree in Apparel Design and Library Information Science during her professional career. Before accepting a full-time teaching position with The Art Institute of Pittsburgh – Online Division, Ms. Stoner developed and taught Remodeling Vintage Clothing, Alterations, Garment Construction, as well as business and computer program courses both in the lab and online.

      Ms. Jane Mountney

      Ms. Mountney received a Bachelor of Fashion & Textiles degree from Nottingham Trent University and a Master’s degree in Marketing from Argosy University. She worked as a fashion and textile professional in both the US and Europe, in the areas of textile and apparel production, quality control, product development, and buying. She served as the Online Advocate and Special Project Manager for California Design College. Before accepting a full-time teaching position with The Art Institute of Pittsburgh – Online Division Ms. Mountney taught textile courses for Otis and the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising.

      Ms. Debbie Baskerville

      Ms. Baskerville received an A.A.S. degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology before pursuing her B.S. and M.F.A.  After earning her Bachelor's degree she worked as a textile designer for the menswear company Jhane Barnes Inc. in New York City for several years.  After graduating from UC Davis, she taught textile and accessory design classes there before returning to the East coast and starting full-time with The Art Institute of Pittsburgh – Online Division. 

      Ms. Sophia Epitropoulos

      Ms. Epitropoulos has over twenty years of experience in fashion design, education, and journalism. Before accepting a full-time teaching position with The Art Institute of Pittsburgh – Online Division in the Fashion & Retail Management program, she spent fifteen years working in freelance illustration, design and visual display for such clients as The Limited and Body Shop. Ms. Epitropoulos spent time in Paris, where she continued her career in specialty design and fashion journalism. After her return to the US, she worked as a fashion journalist, writing fashion features for newspapers such as The Tampa Tribune and Daytona News Journal and was a fashion expert for the FOX network affiliate in Tampa, Florida. She also worked as the Chair for the Department of Fashion at a design school in Tampa, Fla.  Along with her undergraduate degree in fashion design, she holds a Master of Education degree in Instructional Technology.
