Photography
Skills
The photographer serves a unique role in our world. They capture our world as they see it – bringing us visuals of everything from the realities of war to beautiful pictures of products that can be used in advertisements. The world of photography is also constantly evolving. To be successful, one must combine a visual flair with the proficiency needed for the advanced technological changes this field is continually experiencing.
The Associate of Science in Photography degree program at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh – Online Division is designed to prepare graduates to pursue entry level positions in the diverse world of photography. In this program, emphasis is placed on the development of fundamental composition, technical and problem-solving skills needed to produce competent imagery as well as the development of the communication and business skills that can help students compete in the real world.
Successful photographic professionals do not rely on technique alone and neither will our students. The photography students in this program will have the opportunity to develop key skills by learning various digital camera techniques and applications, the principles of light, color and design, creative visual expression and the history of photography as well as a range of digital imaging and business practices.
